About

I’m a senior research assistant in the Cardiac Bioengineering Laboratory. I completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours at the University of Queensland (2010). I have worked in multiple laboratories across different fields. I started as a research assistant in the Bone Marrow Transplantation Laboratory with Prof. Geoffrey Hill at QIMR Berghofer in 2011, working mainly on graft versus host disease. I then joined the HIV Molecular Virology Laboratory with A/Prof. David Harrich at QIMR Berghofer in 2015, where I was trained to work in Physical Containment 3 (PC3) working on HIV-1 replication and regulation. I have also worked on respiratory diseases with the Respiratory Immunology Laboratory with A/Prof. Simon Phipps (2019). I then joined the Cardiac Bioengineering and Inflammation Biology Laboratories (half/half) in 2020, initially to work on SARS-COV-2/COVID-19 related projects due to my skills and experience working in PC3 and with viruses. Then I transitioned to a full-time position in the Cardiac Bioengineering Laboratory from 2021 to work on the Snow project. Moving from field to field has taught me a wide range of skill-sets, knowledge and experience that is applicable across many disciplines.
