About
I am a PhD candidate at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, in the Statistical Genetics Lab, under the supervision of Prof. Stuart MacGregor and Prof. Puya Gharahkhani. I am working on developing better risk prediction tools for glaucoma and ensuring they reach broader use (e.g., for people from underrepresented populations, individuals with a family history, and carriers of rare risk-conferring mutations), ultimately preventing blindness. Previously, I received a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) and a B.Pharm from Hanoi University of Pharmacy (Vietnam).
Research Skills
Proficiency in bioinformatics tools (e.g., PLINK, BCFtools); Data analysis with R, Python, and Bash; Handling large-scale genomic datasets; Experience with GWAS and post-GWAS analyses (e.g., Polygenic Risk Scores, TWAS, Colocalization, Gene Set Enrichment Analysis).
Area of Interest
The role genetic variation plays in determining risk of disease and its risk factors.
