About
Dr Veronika Toth is a Postdoctoral Research Officer at QIMR Berghofer, working in the Molecular Parasitology Laboratory. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, followed by an MSc in Parasitology and Pathogen Biology at Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland, where she also earned her PhD in Biochemistry in 2024.
Dr Toth specializes in molecular parasitology and proteomics, focusing on identifying novel therapeutic and diagnostic targets for schistosomiasis and malaria. In her current research she utilizes technologies such as Single-Cell and Spatial Transcriptomics, CRISPR interference/activation, and Yeast Two-Hybrid systems to investigate the cellular and molecular dynamics of parasite-host interactions and uncover new strategies to combat human schistosomiasis.
