Teija Frame brings over a decade of experience in research laboratory environments, following an illustrious career as an emergency Registered Nurse. She earned her Honours degree at the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, in the Immunology and Infection laboratory. She then worked as a Research Assistant before completing her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Christian Engwerda. Her research has primarily focused on investigating and characterising immune cell populations during parasite infections, including leishmaniasis and malaria, leading to co-authorship of 10 peer-reviewed publications. Currently, Teija plays a pivotal role in the clinical laboratory of the Flow Cytometry Facility, where her expertise lies in immunophenotyping and spectral flow cytometry.
