Dr Sowmya Sharma is a practicing tissue pathologist with thirteen years of reporting experience. Sowmya is the lead cytopathologist and anatomical pathologist at Clinical Labs Bella Vista, NSW. Trained in Sydney teaching hospitals including Westmead Hospital, she has expertise in cytopathology, skin, gastrointestinal and gynaecologic pathology. Quality improvement is her passion resulting in her role as a NATA assessor of anatomical pathology. To pursue her special interest in tumour genomics, Dr Sharma has enrolled in a PhD program with UQ through QIMR Berghofer, exploring the possibilities of integration of tissue pathology and genomics in malignancies arising in the oesophagus and the lung.
