Cancer Neuroscience

The Cancer Neuroscience Laboratory aims to translate insights from fundamental neuroscience research and apply these to brain cancer, with a particular interest in glioblastoma, which is the most common malignant primary brain tumour in adults.

About

Laura Huelshoff completed her Honours degree in Developmental Neuroscience at the University of Queensland in 2024, where she investigated how environmental changes during pregnancy impact neurogenesis.

She is now doing her PhD at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) and at QIMR Berghofer. Her research revolves around novel theranostic treatment approaches for glioblastoma, with specific focus on quiescent glioma stem cells.
