Daffodil Canson holds an MSc in Biochemistry degree from the University of the Philippines, and a PhD in Human Genetics from The University of Queensland. She has been involved in human molecular genetics research since 2007, starting as a research associate studying rare genetic disorders in UP Manila. In 2018, she commenced her PhD project on bioinformatic and RNA analysis of cancer risk variants at QIMR Berghofer, where she stayed on as a postdoctoral researcher after completing her PhD in 2022. Her research is focused on investigating variant effects on RNA splicing.
