Dr Ashwini R Potadar obtained her Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Queensland in 2006. She then spent over five years as a Research Fellow at St. John’s Research Institute in Bangalore, India.
In 2011, she received the prestigious Australian Leadership Award to pursue her PhD in Breast Cancer Research at the University of Queensland's Department of Molecular Breast Pathology. After completing her degree, she undertook postdoctoral fellowships at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and at St. John’s Research Institute in the Division of Renal Genetics in India.
During her fellowship years, she has been responsible for setting up an in-house histopathology facility, conducting experiments, and standardising assay protocols for different types of human cancer tissues.
In 2019, she relocated to Brisbane to work as a Research Fellow at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Centre, focusing on developing innovative technologies, including the application of multispectral imaging of human and mouse tissues. In 2021, she joined the histology team at QIMR Berghofer, aiming to support researchers in achieving their goals.
